How to Make a Donation or Volunteer
Donations
The Down East AIDS Network is frequently seeking donations to help sustain the valuable services it provides as we strive to fulfill our mission: To support those affected by HIV and educate and inform the public to prevent the spread of the virus.
Donations support DEAN's:
- Prevention Program, providing counseling testing and education around HIV to stem the tide of the disease by raising awareness and helping to reduce high risk behaviors - Between 2010 and 2011 DEAN has conducted over 200 high risk HIV tests and educated over 1,000 middle and high school students in Downeast, Maine.
- Medical Case Management Program, working directly with people with HIV/AIDS, helping those afflicted by the disease to satisfy their ever-present medical needs. This coordination of care to support clients' health and well-being is provided to over 50 people living in the area.
- Advocacy and community organizing efforts on behalf of those populations most affected by HIV, including the GLBT population, IV drug users and people living with HIV.
The Down East AIDS Network is a 501(c)(3) organization, accepting donations by cash, check, or PayPal.

Volunteering
The Down East AIDS Network is always in need of able-bodied volunteers. Volunteers can help support the organization by:
- providing general office and administrative support
- staffing special events
- conducting HIV tests (training provided)
- seeking donations
- and many more functions...
